This privacy policy applies to the PECverse mobile application and website operated for students of Punjab Engineering College. We take privacy seriously and adhere strictly to India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and Google Play Store Developer Privacy Guidelines.
1. Information We Collect
- Academic Details: Academic branch, group/section, and year to automatically fetch relevant timetables.
- Attendance Tracking: Personal attendance logs and targets are stored securely and never made public.
- Push Tokens: Device push notification tokens used strictly to deliver class alerts, timetable shift notices, and mess updates.
- Campus Lounge UGC: Optional posts and comments. Users can post under Ghost Mode (zero personal identity attached).
2. Zero Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade any student data with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or commercial entities. All data is used solely to provide academic schedule services, attendance tracking, and campus communication.
3. Analytics & Telemetry (PostHog)
To ensure 99.9% app stability and fix crashes, we utilize a privacy-first telemetry pipeline via PostHog. All user input fields and passwords are automatically masked, and tracking respects user opt-out preferences.
4. User Rights & Data Deletion
Students have the right to delete their account, posts, and associated data at any time directly through the in-app profile settings or by contacting the developer at adityagupta@theaspirants.co.in.
